This site has been set up  to provide a platform for and hopefully a new political party for the people of Ireland to create a new future, a new and better 'Democracy' a cleaner and healthier environment, and a more sustainable and secure financial future for this and future generations, and a better educational system the pillar and foundation on which our society rests.

We are at a crossroads.

We are witnessing what happens in a world without regulation. What happens when politicians and financiers have free reign,no accountability and enough rope...........They not only hang themselves ,but us along with them.

We talk about Democracy. But we have little Democracy. We have a form of elected dictatorship.

Democracy begins and ends with the election of a political party in this country.

I am old enough to remember Wood Quay.  European Governments (including the Danish Government) wrote to the Irish Government telling them that this site was not only of Irish importance but of European importance. A quarter of a million Irish people signed petitions ,one hundred and fifty thousand people marched through the streets in protest against the destruction of this site . A priest and some other notaries chained themselves to diggers and heavy machinery and all to no avail , they were all ignored .No one mattered,no one was listening and no one was  listened to.

A country is more than an economy.

Irish citizens were not consulted in the recent Hill of Tara project. The Irish people were not consulted when our oil and gas reserves were 'Given Away'  for free to any outside interests who wanted them.

We need to take  lessons from other countries who seem to fare much better than our People in relation to their politicians and resources ,and how they see democracy. In Sweden they have a system of transparency in Government that we could do with adopting here and I would propose such a system .

In Switzerland any man or woman can change anything in their society by getting enough people to sign a  petition . If enough people sign and agree with the proposal then it must go to a local vote. If it is passed then the local government must pass it into law, if that is what is required, or act on the decision .THE 'PEOPLE' HAVE SPOKEN. IF however it is of national import then it must go to a 'National vote' if it has been passed at local level. This way the man in the street  has an impact on the country as a whole or an influence and involvement in the running of their country on an on-going basis. The people of Switzerland are not communists and do not suffer anarchy as a result of this system. We all know Sweden and Switzerland to be highly orderly societies. I would encourage some such a mechanism here.

I believe ...No Government has the right to go against the wishes of the people, that no election gives a Government this mandate, and that a mechanism needs to be put in place to allow the people of this country to have their say when they feel the strong need to express themselves and to have the final say without having to resort to civil unrest.

Governments are elected and given a mandate on promises and issues of the day and things they know we want to hear. During the period that they represent those issues and promises circumstances can and frequently do change and I see no reason why there can not be an on going dialogue between the the people and 'THEIR' Government.

I watched with great admiration ,but also great sadness as tens of thousands of elderly and infirm people took to the streets on walking sticks and in wheelchairs and supported (literally physically, and emotionally) by concerned and worried relatives . I thought it dreadfully sad that anyone ,let alone the very elderly and sick and infirm, had to resort to this form of protest in the cold and damp to make their voices heard, and resolved that if I did nothing else but make sure that people like this never have to resort to or be put in this extreme situation to have a voice and a  say in their own future then in my life I may have done something really worth while.

This website is a step towards the people of Ireland regaining their political voice and their involvement in the 'ON GOING' POLITICAL PROCESS 'BETWEEN' ELECTIONS.

Our Government has been guilty of unprecedented levels of negligence and lack of forward planning, wastefulness , greed and croneyism .It has been shocking how easily they 'bought' the last election. Lurching around like Drunken Lords,or drug addicts on an unsustainable  high of unsustainable property tax income. Throwing money away wastefully on tax breaks, concessions, tax incentives, etc  and what have we got to show for it. Nothing in Education nothing in health , nothing on public order or crime, drug and alcohol abuse, nothing in pensions, etc

Many people who took on loans or higher living standards, did so on the basis of information we were fed by the Government who told us “Sound economy,Good economic planning soft landing” etc etc

These people are now being told that “You made 'your' decisions and 'you' must take responsibility for them.”

If you buy something in a shop on the basis of a lie or false advertising you have some comeback. Not so on the basis  of lies perpetrated by our Government or Bankers, again lack of transparency and accountability. But of course you will be held responsible for decisions made on these lies and we have no mechanism of holding 'Them' responsible, or, removing them from power if we are deeply unhappy with them. We need this mechanism of involvement on behalf of the people of Ireland  in THEIR OWN political process.

In general, we are not a totally uneducated people any longer who need to be dictated to and governed for our own good. Our educational system in my opinion has its short comings which I will talk about later, but we are now well informed, at least, and have for the most part access to all the information we need. We have access to satellite T.V. The internet etc and are well capable of making informed decisions as long as we have transparency and access to the truth in high places, which has been sadly lacking in the past and up to the present day. We should be progressing and evolving from a famine mentality which causes people to grasp and hoard as much as they can for themselves  while it is going,(in a sense of panic and fear at the expense of others more vulnerable), to a more caring society.

I am proposing that the people of Ireland stop acting like 'Victims' and take more control of this situation by forming a new political party that addresses the above issues..... and more.

Yes we need jobs, but a country is much more than an Economy. We have seen what 'Loads-a -Money' did to, us, the bankers, and the Government, while it was going, and it was pretty ugly.

We have many more problems to address than money alone can fix. We will have to be creative and open up our minds to new ways of looking at the society we live in. Do we REALLY want to come out of this recession in the same condition we went into it.

Despite our “money” we still had rising levels of sickening crime, violence, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, rising levels of heart disease, cancer, diabetes(in children now as young as 12),depression,obesity, etc....we now are close to raising the first generation of children who will not live as long as their parents and we have one of the highest levels of suicide among young people in the world,in this beautiful green and pleasant land.

Throwing more 'money' doctors, hospitals, garda and prisons has not and will never solve the underlying cause of these problem's, and they are not separate problems. They are mainly in my opinion just a couple of problems. Huge amounts of money are wasted on quangos and commissions trying to find the reason for each of these 'expressions' of the 'human' condition.

When people are given unfettered access to large amounts of money  and/or are put under extreme pressure, feel disenfranchised and helpless or trapped and not in control of their own lives etc they exhibit a wide a variety of reactions. Some become ill, some become angry and rebellious other extremely cynical and cold, some become depressed and suicidal, others seek refuge in food, others turn to crime, and the list goes on. Two problems...many reactions. Treating the symptoms of this folly does not address the cause and as the symptoms grow worse and drain the life and finance and humanity out of our society the very systems that are supposed  to deal with these problems begin to break down themselves ....Education,Health,Justice,etc, and we have been and are ,witnessing this in real time right now. Turn on your radio news any day and it sounds like 'Ground Hog Day' every day and getting worse.

I believe Education is the pillar on which the whole of our civilization and culture(if we can still call it that) is built. It is not to be compromised and is not  for downgrading. There is no question that this is even up for discussion. If anything we need more spent on understanding and fixing its shortcomings. Our future and its very existence and even our survival as a species depends on it now, more than ever. Our ability to learn from history and overcome our mistakes of the past, not just environmental but political, and our ability to adapt and grow in unison depends on it. Our ability to communicate, articulate and organise our lives and society at higher levels of refinement and sophistication and competitiveness in the market place depends on it. It is not up for negotiation.
